Brew Guides
We roast it to an exact profile. Here is how to land it in your cup.
Dial in the brew. Every Javai coffee is roasted to a precise, repeatable curve. The rest is just landing it.
Grind fresh
Grinding just before you brew gives the brightest cup. No grinder? Our pre-ground is sealed fresh and roasted to order.
Off the boil
Heat water to about 96°C / 205°F, just off the boil. Too hot scorches, too cool under-extracts.
Weigh it
Our baseline is 1 gram of coffee to 16 grams of water. A small scale is the single best upgrade.
Ceremonial Matcha
Whisk it yourself.
Move the whisk around the bowl, any direction, and watch the powder whisk into froth.

Loose wrist. Any direction works.
Matcha

Water
60ml
Temp
80°C / 175°F
Whisk
15 to 20s
- Sift 2g of matcha into a wide bowl to break up clumps.
- Add 60ml of water at 80°C / 175°F. Hotter water turns matcha bitter.
- Whisk briskly in a W or M zig-zag, not a circle, until a fine froth forms.
- For a latte, whisk with 30ml water first, then top with steamed milk.
Flux Pods
Drop. Brew. Done.
Single-serve and roasted to the same standard as everything we make.

Effort
None
- Drop a Flux pod into your Keurig-style brewer.
- Select a 6 to 8 oz cup. Smaller pulls a bolder cup; larger sizes dilute it.
- If the machine has been sitting, run a water-only cycle first to warm it through.
- Pick your roast: Flux Light, Medium, or Dark, roasted on demand.

Grind Guide
Match the grind to the method.
The single biggest lever after freshness. Get this right and everything else falls into place.
Coarse
French Press · Cold Brew
Chunky, like coarse sea salt.
Medium
Pour-Over · Drip
Even, like granulated sugar.
Fine
Espresso
Powdery, like table salt.
Keep It Fresh
We roast on demand and ship within two business days, so freshness is on your side. Protect it.
- Store sealed, cool, dark, and dry.
- Skip the fridge and freezer for daily coffee; temperature swings pull in moisture.
- Buy what you will drink in a few weeks and let the roast date work for you.
