Single-Origin Indonesia

A single-origin decaf from Mandheling, in the volcanic highlands of northern Sumatra, Indonesia, where smallholder farms still grow coffee by hand using time-honored methods and a humid mountain climate gives the beans the full body and earthy depth that define great Indonesian coffee.

It is wet-hulled, the traditional process behind every great Sumatran coffee, which strips the parchment from the bean while it is still soft and damp. That is exactly what gives this cup its signature: deep, earthy, and low in acid, with a woody cedar character pulled straight from the process itself.

The caffeine is removed first with a clean, chemical-free water process, using water and time instead of solvents, so the body and character survive it intact. Then we roast to a precise medium, deep enough to draw out the dark molasses sweetness while keeping the cup smooth and round, and hold that profile batch after batch, so this decaf drinks like a full-caffeine coffee, because in every way that matters, it is.
